On July 1st each year, Canadian hearts swell with pride and patriotism as they commemorate the country's formation. In Kelowna, British Columbia, this national holiday is a grand occasion celebrated with pride and enthusiasm. Canada Day in Kelowna is an amalgamation of culture, community, and Canadian spirit, making it an event one should not miss.

Set amidst the picturesque backdrop of Okanagan Lake, Kelowna pulls out all the stops for Canada Day. The event starts early in the morning, usually around 10:00 AM, and goes on late into the night, ensuring an entire day filled with revelry and excitement.

At Prospera Place, enjoy the official ceremonies with a “Happy Birthday Canada” cake, the 49th Annual Kelowna Folkfest showcasing culinary and cultural performances, and the 6th Annual Canada Day Concert by the Kelowna City Band. Waterfront Park will host the 25th annual “Celebrate Canada Day-Kelowna,” featuring the Taste of Canada food fair, the Made in Canada Marketplace, the Canada Day Bazaar, and community group displays. Additional activities include art fun at the Kelowna Art Gallery, and entertainment on multiple stages: the Folkfest Stage, Parks Alive! Power Stage, TD Beach Stage, and Kiwanis Family Stage.

Canada Day in Kelowna also focuses on family-friendly activities. The city organizes numerous games, workshops, and interactive activities that can be enjoyed by both children and adults. Some of the most popular activities include the Kids Zone, filled with face painting, bouncy castles, and craft stations, and the various food trucks offering an assortment of delectable local and international cuisines.

As the day progresses, live music performances take centre stage. Musicians, both local and from across the nation, perform a wide array of genres to entertain the crowd. Kelowna's Canada Day celebrations culminate in a grand display of fireworks over the Okanagan Lake, painting the night sky in a vibrant palette of colours and making the experience truly unforgettable.

While the event is free for all, it's important to reach early to secure a good spot, especially for the parade and the fireworks show. Pack your sunscreen, water bottles, and picnic mats, and get ready to immerse yourself in the spirit of Canada Day in Kelowna, BC.
