The Knox Mountain Hill Climb is a two-day motorsport event that is held every year on the long weekend in May. The event involves participants racing their cars up Knox Mountain, a challenge that combines high speeds, tight corners, and dramatic elevation changes to test drivers’ skills to their limits. The course, 3.5 km in length with an elevation gain of 245 metres, offers spectacular views over Okanagan Lake, an inspiring backdrop to the high-speed action.

Event Details

The Hill Climb is usually held over two days with a practice day and 3 official runs on the first day and 4 official runs of the second race day. On the practice day, participants have the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the course, fine-tune their strategies, and make any necessary last-minute adjustments to their vehicles. The official runs sees drivers compete in a time trial format, with the fastest time to the summit winning.

While the event focuses on the thrilling race up the mountain, there are also plenty of activities for spectators. There is an array of food and beverage vendors, beer gardens, live music, merchandise stalls, live commentary, and opportunities for autographs and photos with the drivers.

The race takes place at Knox Mountain Park, located at the end of Ellis Street. The event organizers ensure that the venue is accessible to everyone. There's ample parking space, and facilities are provided for attendees with mobility issues.
